Capturing both of his match play rounds at the University Athletic Association Championships, Joey Burlision was named to the all-tournament golf team for New York University.
The senior standout helped NYU beat No. 6 Carnegie Mellon, before falling to top seed Emory in Palm Coast, Florida.
With sports at NYU canceled last year because of the pandemic, the Palma product has been the team’s top golfer throughout the season in its return.
Two years ago Burlison was a Division III All-American honorable mention selection and was named to the PING all-Northeast Region first team for the Violets, setting a program record with a 72.5 average on the season.
As a freshman in 2019, Burlison was the Liberty League co-Rookie of the Year, a first team All-Liberty selection, a member of the GCAA All-Freshman team and a first team All-Northeast Region.
Burlison reached the CIF State golf championships twice for Palma, and was a three-year starter on the basketball team.
