Jamaree Bouyea’s final season as a college basketball player was one for the ages as the Palma graduate helped the University of San Francisco to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 28 years.
The 6-foot-2 Bouyea led the Dons to a 24-win season, averaging a team-high 17.3 points a game. He also led the team in assists (135) and steals (69), and was second in rebounds and blocks.
Hitting a career-high 36 points in his final game, Bouyea shot a career-high 47% from the field for the Dons and was named to the NABC District 9 first team.
A point guard who plays tenacious defense, Bouyea will begin preparation for the NBA draft.
A two-time West Coast Conference Player of the Week, Bouyea leaves as the program’s all-time leader in wins (98) and games played (159), starting 92 straight games.
Bouyea finished No. 2 in the conference in points (528), third in steals (54), and fourth in assists (126) and points per game (17.0). He led the conference in minutes played and field goals.
Having scored over 1,500 points in his career, the former Seaside’s Finest standout finished in the top five in school history in steals, repeating as an all-West Coast Conference selection.
Bouyea led Palma to a CIF State Division IV finals appearance in 2016 and a Northern California finals appearance in 2017, earning The Herald’s Player of the Year honor twice.
